World: China beer output down 1.5% in January-March

Chinese beer output totalled 81.6 mln hl in January-March, minus 1.5% year-over-year (y/y), H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier this month.

Czech beer sales in 2021 were 19.6 mln hl, minus 2.8 % y/y.

German beer sales amounted to 7.71 mln hl in March, minus 1.3 % y/y; January-March volume was 18.67 mln hl, plus 5.1% y/y.

Ukrainian first-quarter beer output amounted to 1.71 mln hl, minus approximately 50%. Malt production was 32,800 tonnes, minus 40.8%.

U.S. domestic beer sales were 15.2 mln bbls. in March, plus 2.9%; January-March saw output total 38.6 mln hl, minus 2.7%.

U.S. beer imports in February totalled 2.94 mln bbls., plus 18.2% y/y; January-February import volume amounted to 5.97 mln bbls., plus 6.0%.

U.S. craft beer production in 2021 was 24.8 mln bbls., plus 8% y/y, market share was 13.1% after 12.2% in 2020.
